Everyone knows that Paris is one of the fashion trends’ cradles and ubiquitous art presence is its strongest vital force. No wonder why, they influence not only the way Parisians dress but also their lifestyle. Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki wanted to combine their love for music with refined fashion sense. As a result, Kitsuné was founded in 2002.

The word kitsuné (written きつね or 狐) itself means “fox” in Japanese and is a reference to the company’s “various faces”. Aside from its fashion brand Maison Kitsuné and its chic café (both described here), Kitsuné created one of the most important music labels in France – Kitsuné Musique. Its mission is “to mix the worlds of music and design for a unique experience”.

Kitsuné Musique sets its radars on promising artists and producers. Throughout the years, it has worked with bands like Klaxons, Yelle, Bloc Party, La Roux, Mark Ronson and a lot more. Carefully cherry-picking the best beats, Kitsuné Musique perpetually releases compilations that gather rare and exclusive tracks from around the world. Some of the hottest names featured: Fakear, Toro Y Moi, Childish Gambino to name but a few.

Kitsuné Musique doesn’t stop there as it aims to satisfy music lovers to the fullest. In October 2015, the label launched Kitsuné Hot Stream where the newest music discoveries (accompanied by the works of talented visual artists) are shared twice a week for those who always crave something new in their earphones.

That’s not all! Playlists are great, but the live experience is even better. Everyone knows that and Kitsuné Musique is no exception. The label organizes music events that take place in the most elegant venues around the world. The events come in different “shapes and sizes”. Club nights, live performances, after shows in the Opéra Bastille and after-work parties. If you love parties with original music and a great sense of style – you will fall for Kitsuné’s events!
