It’s officially rosé season and like every good French girl you’ve waiting all Winter long to taste that sweet delicious nectar (yeah right!) Whether you’ve waited or not, you can’t deny it tastes that much better with a healthy dose of sunshine! Life’s too short to drink rubbish wine though so the next time you’re perusing the menu at your local café or picking up a bottle from Monoprix for a picnic at Champs de Mars, look for these three killer rosés you won’t be disappointed with!

  1. Mirabeau Côtes de Provences Rosé, 2015

Made by an English couple in the heart of Provence, this delicious pale pink wine has a fresh acidic taste as well as bursting with strawberry and raspberry flavors. Considered the classic in the Mirabeau range, this is both the ideal wine for a aperitif and for a hearty flavorful meal. Of course you can always drink it anytime, wine is to be enjoyed not to stress over, especially this fun and youthful rosé.

  1. Domaine de L’Olivette, Bandol AOP Rosé 2015

This slightly sparkling beauty has strong aromas of citrus, spices and strawberry notes. The tastes play upon each other with slight hints of white pepper, thyme and gooseberry. Other flavor notes include mango, almond and grenadine and it’s lasting finish on the mouth will definitely have you craving another glass! This wine pairs perfectly with fresh seafood.

  1. Champagne Besserat de Bellefon, Cuvée des Moines Brut Rosé

Technically a champagne, not a wine, this bubbly delight should be served at 9° for maximum taste. A blend of grapes are used in the making including pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot meunier. While we can’t think of a celebration or a hot day that doesn’t call for a tall glass of sparkling rosé, it also pairs flawlessly with desserts like ice cream and sweet pies as well as white meat.
