This week on Trending Around The Globe, we’re taking a stylish trip over to London where Alexa Chung has just launched her first fashion line! Debuting her capsule collection at the Danish Church of St Katherine, the styles are the perfect mix of fashion forward design and Alexa’s distinctive sense of style.
Jam packed full of flirty dresses, timeless trench coats, slogan tee shirts and a little denim thrown in for good measure, the collection has arrived just in time for Summer and is as practical as it is stylish. The luxury collection is available for purchase now so if you’re looking for some new pieces for your closet or your Summer vaycay look no further! Of course Alexa herself turned up to her event in one of her favorite pieces from the collection, a shimmery mid length dress complete with ruffle sleeves and we simply can’t get enough.
In other news this week, staying in the heart of the fashion capital of London, more information has been released about the highly anticipated documentary about Princess Diana. It has now been confirmed that both Prince Harry and William will feature in the docu-film, speaking out about the journey from the moment they heard the horrendous news of her death. Diana not only made waves as an activist and charitable worker but also as a style icon so we’re certain to see some footage of her most memorable outfits throughout her short life. Tragically, the Princess of Wales was killed in a car accident in Paris on the Pont Alma and so the documentary will air to coincide with the 20th anniversary of her death on 31st August.
Travelling back to Paris, the number one fashion capital as far as we’re concerned, there’s big news and it comes from Parisian born brand Vetements. Vetements, the street style brand that has taken the fashion world by a storm and turned it on its head, has announced they’re pulling the plug – at least for now! Bored by the monotonous routine of fashion shows, they’ve decided to take a break until they can do something extremely different and shake up the industry once again! Vetements, you’ll be missed but we hope to see you back with a new collection and some intriguing surprises soon!
