Love it or hate it, coffee in most Parisian cafés has an acquired taste. Too strong for some, too bitter for others, if you want a truly decadent cup of caffeine fueled deliciousness, you’ll have to look around. Or rather you won’t, because we’ve done the leg work for you! Here’s our round up of the three best places that hit the spot just right when it comes to refueling!

Holybelly19, rue Lucien Sampaix (10th)

Relative newcomers to the scene, Holybelly specializes in Australian breakfasts and brunches and of course seriously good coffee! David Lebovitz is a fan and if it’s good enoughfor food guru Lebovitz it certainly gets our seal of approval! Located in an eclectic area near Republique, the only downside to Holybelly is their no reservations policy. Do get there early as the crowds have already sniffed out the great black liquid available and there will almost certainly be a queue.

Coutume Café : 47, Rue de Babylone (7th)

Don’t let the slight hipster feel of this joint put you off. Yes they serve water in lab equipment bottles but the coffee is worth the bizarre water etiquette. If you’re a lover of latte art, this is the place to visit, getting your caffeine and your art fix all in one spot! They also have a very decent lunch menu if you’re feeling a little peckish!

Café Kitsuné: 51, Galerie de Montpensier (1st)

The infamous French/Japanese fusion fashion label now has a coffee shop in the first arrondissement of Paris. Stylish and fuss free, this is the place to nip in and grab a coffee on the go, a very non French thing to do FYI. But, their non existent tables and quick access bar makes it suitable for takeout and located just around the corner from their flagship store, it’s the perfect place to take un café after browsing their latest collection.
