Happy May Day!
As we head into the second round of the French presidential elections on May 7th and hope that the populace proves themselves to be more superior than the recent choices of their Anglo counterparts, here are three events happening the first week of May in Paris which you should check out.
- It’s the return of Fatboy Slim in Paris held at trendy afterwork spot Faust (7th arrondissement) on Friday, May 5th. Go to hear some tunes reminding you of easier times in the 90s when filters on phones didn’t exist and capture a view of the beautiful bridges surrounding the nightclub.
- Performance artist Abraham Poincheval also returns to Paris (it is the end of Mercury retrograde, this is normal) for a brief stint at the Palais de Tokyo running from May 3rd through May 8th. Get a glimpse of the ephemeral before it is gone and only found in another museum thousands of miles away from you.
- It has been thirty years since Egyptian Italian singer Dalida killed herself from an overdose after struggling with personal tragedies whilst achieving worldwide success as a singer. Between the biographical film about Dalida and the exhibition about her at the Musée de la mode de la ville de Paris (Palais Galliera) running until August 13th, the time is ripe to get insight into her tragic life.
