When you go to the south of France, you are remiss to miss St. Jean-Cap-Ferrat. It is an absolute feast for the eyes and a super easy trip from Nice or Cannes.
Here are three picks for how to pass a weekend there:

  1. The Ephrussi de Rothschild Villa and Jardins (Gardens) – the famous Rothschild villa has: a fancy pink villa, musical fountains, so many gardens you will lose count (with different themes), a tea room, stunning views, did we mention this is a villa on the French riviera, and so much more. Perhaps the better question to ask is what doesn’t this villa have (a pool? Who needs one when you’re surrounded by all of the fresh water around!) The villa speaks for itself. Take the bus line 81 from Nice for super easy access to the villa at the stop “Rothschild” for a 1,50 euro ride to paradise for a day. – www.villa-ephrussi.com
  2. Hike – Put on some sunscreen or some sun tanning lotion if you will, and spend half a day to the entire day just hiking around these stunning views. You will not regret it – http://www.beyond.fr/villages/stjeancfhike.html
  1. Paloma Beach – Also located right at the terminus/ending stop of the bus line 81 is this amazing beach which is pebbly, secluded and the clearest water we’ve encountered in the south of France.
