Winter is slowly coming to an end, but it doesn’t mean we could miss the trends set to rule the streets next Fall/Winter. As always, we’ve got all the news you need to know – straight from the runways of Paris Fashion Week!

Saint Laurent

Saint Laurent kicked off Paris Fashion Week with panache without a doubt! The new collection was all about the classics that bring back the spirit of the haute bourgeoisie. Jaunty, double-breasted jackets and coats with exaggerated shoulders were the star attraction of this fashion show. Tight leggings, skirts, and shiny boots, all made out of latex, completed those elaborate accents with a bold, provocative twist. By pairing up seemingly contradictory elements and courageously expanding the usual color palette, not only is the new Saint Laurent’s collection a gentle nod towards Yves Saint Laurent but also brings his elegant designs into the modern era.

Balmain

Balmain always loves to stand out, and Olivier Rousteing never ceases to amaze us with his extravagant designs full of sophisticated elan that brought him to the top of the fashion industry. This collection defends his lead in taking traditional French fashion codes and redefining them to create something truly distinct. Characteristic detailed, rich, intricate patterns were paired up with horse-and-chain foulard prints and adorned with tassels. Vivid colors enhancing dark accents will brighten the next fall/winter season. But that’s not all! The collection also included less flashy looks with saharienne jackets, loose coats, and argyle patterns appearing in all shades of beige. Not to mention, extraordinary cuts that make every look outstanding. Unquestionably, thanks to Rousteign’s unusual approach to fashion, the Balmain’s collection is impossible to miss.

Givenchy

The last position on our list is Givenchy that completely stole our hearts. This season’s collection was dominated by black, red, and white. Formal, loose, and impressively demonstrative cuts were sashaying on the runway. Givenchy zeroed in very chic and sophisticated patterns and refined details such as feathers that are characteristic to Waight Keller’s collections. Unique, large hats were an eye-catching accessory, pointing out at Givenchy’s founder, Hubert de Givenchy, who passed away in 2018. Undoubtedly, Givenchy closed this Paris Fashion Week with a grand finale by bringing back our favorite timeless classic flair.
