March has left Parisian streets empty and immensely depressing. Aside from applauding every evening to honor the brave heroes fighting with the pandemic, there was not much to await. Still, our lust for life doesn’t cease, and we can’t live it to the fullest without our events and parties. As our clocks switched to daylight saving time, it was a sign that we should also wake up from our winter hibernation. Here are our picks for the five hottest April events to kick off spring with a big bang.

1. Long showers

Finally, you can take long showers (or even baths if you have a bathtub). Even better! You have all the time you need to pamper yourself with the countless number of creams and masks stocked up on your bathroom shelves without worrying that your freelancer friends can call any minute, to ask “when are you coming because they are there and have already ordered their drinks”. Needless to say that showers are great places to unleash your emotions. They serve as great karaoke bars and excellent therapists (offering you a premium membership that offers unlimited crying sessions due to quarantine-related hardships). Isn’t that convenient? 

2. Home theater

There are these moments when we open our Netflix accounts, skim through the movie list, and save more intriguing titles. But we never achieve to watch them. The list becomes longer as we continually end up with one episode of Friends per day or binge-watching some currently popular series at best, but very rarely a movie. There is never enough time for a proper movie marathon, but these times are over. Place your laptop in front of your couch, plug the speakers waiting for picnics that got canceled, and let the show go on. Annoying ads, tall people blocking the view, and pricey tickets are getting replaced this month with the most comfortable seats, extra blanket, and the best (homemade) popcorn with lots of salty butter. That’s the occasion you definitely can’t miss!

3. Takeaway Delivery

We all know you’ve been dreaming about this moment since the beginning of the quarantine. With outside life being on hold, takeaway deliveries have officially become the new Friday. Now that everything we all eat is mostly stocked-up pasta, your Instagram account is finally free of your friends’ guilt-tripping instastories showing healthy salads and smoothies. Besides, until there is any good reason to wear that party dress again, you will have lost all these extra pounds with Mel B anyway, so what’s stopping you? What will it be? Burgers, pizza, sushi, or something else you’ve been longing for days?

4. Trip to Pleasantview

Your graduation got canceled because of the pandemic? No friends, parties, or jogging under lockdown? Who cares when you can have it all in The Sims? There is no quarantine in Pleasantview or Sunset Valley, so how about a bit of nostalgic time traveling? Do you remember playing The Sims when you were in the 5th or 6th grade? The mysterious Goth family, arriving at 1 AM at a restaurant, creating drama, setting everything on fire, or simply just removing pool ladders and leaving your sims to drown. What a simple, fun life it was! It’s high time we dug The Sims out of the depths of our closets and relieved these crazy, old memories as well as create new ones.

5. Social distance-themed festival

We close this list with a truly unforgettable event – a party where you are the only guest. Yes, you’re right. We are talking about the world’s hottest festival right now – Couchella. Cheap drinks, no makeup, no crowds, and comfortable yoga pants instead of a tight dress that rolls itself up every time you get up. Forget about party poopers who decide to call it a night and go home or who tell you to stop aiming for that perfect selfie (come on, there are some priorities). One stage that belongs to you, with the best DJ Spotify behind the decks (who will play the songs of your awkward goth phase without anyone knowing). This April at your place – let’s get the party started!
