Fall has finally arrived in Paris. October, as usual, welcomed us with the beloved and long-awaited pumpkin spice latte while trees were turning gold and carmine. Filled with excitement, we plunged into effervescent preparations for Halloween and the ensuing long weekend. But now, we are coming to a bitter realization that it’s gone as well as our October enthusiasm. November surprises us with the autumn blues. The trees are now leafless, the temperature is dropping, and the days are becoming shorter. Despite the depressive ambiance, Parisian vivid and bustling life doesn’t seem to cease. Check out our picks for the five hottest events in the city this month!

1. Paris Photo

Founded in 1997, Paris Photo remains the largest and the most important event dedicated to photography. This annual art fair is hosted at the historic Grand Palais and gathers up to 200 exhibitors presenting the most qualitative photo-based artworks. If you want to see the current trends in photography brought out by the leading galleries from all over the world, Paris Photo is something you can’t miss! The art fair is running until the 10th of November.

2. Pop-up Store My Pliage

Perhaps you remember having the classic Pliage bag from Longchamp that was not only perfect for any occasion but also remarkably strong and resistant. 3. Paris Cocktail Festival

If you are a cocktail bar regular, we’ve got some good news for you. For a few years, Montmartre has been hosting a unique fair for cocktail lovers. Paris Cocktail Festival is a combination of various attractions revolving around cocktails. On November 16 at Elysée Montmartre, you can taste a myriad of delicious cocktails as well as partake in several workshops to improve your bartender skills. And if you feel like splurging, you can also participate in a cocktail dinner held at elegant Bistrot Instinct, right before the fair on November 15.

4. Fête du Beaujolais Nouveau

This list wouldn’t be complete without something as French and classic as Fête du Beaujolais Nouveau. Beaujolais Nouveau is an early release wine that was primarily drunk by vineyard workers to celebrate the end of harvest which official date is the third Thursday of November. As time passed, Beaujolais Nouveau began to spread around the bars and bistros until it got to Paris, where it became a sensation. Nowadays, all France is celebrating the end of harvest by drinking this astounding wine. This year’s Fête du Beaujolais Nouveau falls on November 21. Here you will find a bunch of useful addresses.

5. Salon des Vignerons Indépendants

Last but not least, November ends with Salon des Vignerons Indépendants from November 28 to December 1. This annual wine fair will bring together almost 1000 independent wine producers who offer a wide range of appellations from all over France. During these three days, the Paris Expo at Porte de Versailles will be the place to be for every wine lover. And what’s more, the glass you get when you buy the ticket will make a perfect souvenir to take home.
