Museums to visit in post-confinement Paris

Even though many aspects of our pre-confinement life have to wait, life is slowly coming back to Paris. While restaurants, bars, and cafes mostly still remain closed, several small-sized Pasian museums are reopening after the quarantine. Le Musée de l’Illusion (opened on May 11) The newly opened Museum of Illusions is the first one on our list and probably the most bizarre one. This unique museum will make you question reliance on your senses because nothing there is what it seems to be as its only purpose is to trick your mind. Yet, it’s not only visually entertaining but also educational, so if you want to discover a bit of science in a fun way, that’s the place to visit. Safety measures: online reservation is highly recommended, but not mandatory. Entry is limited to 70 people a day (ten one-hour visits per day). The museum’s rooms are additionally prepared according to…

Top 5 April Events

March has left Parisian streets empty and immensely depressing. Aside from applauding every evening to honor the brave heroes fighting with the pandemic, there was not much to await. Still, our lust for life doesn’t cease, and we can’t live it to the fullest without our events and parties. As our clocks switched to daylight saving time, it was a sign that we should also wake up from our winter hibernation. Here are our picks for the five hottest April events to kick off spring with a big bang. Photo via: Tumblr 1. Long showers Finally, you can take long showers (or even baths if you have a bathtub). Even better! You have all the time you need to pamper yourself with the countless number of creams and masks stocked up on your bathroom shelves without worrying that your freelancer friends can call any minute, to ask “when are you…

Chic girl’s tips to surviving the quarantine

The current situation has struck us hard. Suddenly, our lives had to stop overnight. Our daily activities became limited to hunting for food and toilet paper. But as much as we love our Parisian life, we want to protect our friends, neighbors, families, and everyone around us even more. As all the bars, restaurants, and shops remain closed, it’s tough to adapt to the new reality. It’s hard to feel alright while being confined within four walls away from our friends, but we’re trying to stay positive as always and find the best (chic!) possible ways to survive this pandemic. Maybe you always wanted to get that perfect line instead of…

Top 5 December Events

As the countdown to Christmas begins, the festive mood in Paris is in full swing. Streets are abundantly decorated with lights, Christmas markets are open to the public and full of Christmas cheer. Even low temperature can’t compete with this joyful atmosphere around the most wonderful time of the year. Since Paris is bursting with exciting events, we want to share not only the Christmas spirit but also our favorite events this month. 1. Christmas market in the Tuileries Garden Is there anything that brings the festive mood better than Christmas markets? The answer is: of course not. Even though it is apparent that Parisian Christmas markets can’t compete with those in Colmar or Strasbourg, Paris has something to offer as well. Our pick is the one located at the famous Tuileries Garden right in the heart of the City of Lights. The largest Marché de Noël is running from late November…

Musée Zadkine – a museum to visit in autumn

Paris is one of the most beautiful autumn cities in the world, and where else embodies most vividly the spirit of the season better than those breathtaking Parisian gardens with trees enriched by all nuances in the color palettes of green and yellow. Luxembourg garden in the 6tharrondissement comes as our most recommended, however, if a public garden isn’t cultural enough to spend a Parisian autumn afternoon, here comes Musée Zadkine, a hidden gem right near Luxembourg garden! Bronze sculptures of Ossip Zadkine in the garden of Musée Zadkine The small yet lovely buildings and garden of Musée Zadkine was the house and atelier of Russian-french sculptor Ossip Zadkine (1890-1967), one of the greatest masters of cubist sculptures. After his death, his widow donated the estate to the city of Paris and Musée Zadkine opened its door to the public in 1982. Since then, the museum regularly holds temporary exhibitions…

Of course, time spent in the City of Lights deprives every newcomer of misconceptions and shows what Paris is really like. Welcome to this unique guide of 5 things people realize when they move to Paris (according to an adopted Parisian). 1. Paris is much more than the Eiffel Tower Many foreigners who dream about coming to Paris, fall under the Eiffel Tower’s spell. No wonder why. Almost every movie whose action takes place in Paris features this superstar. According to them everything worth attention happens around it. The first thing you find out about people living in Paris is that the Eiffel Tower doesn’t make us excited.…

Paris Fashion Week Roundup SS2020

With another season of Paris Fashion Week being over now, we take a look at our 3 favorite French designers and the trends they’ve prepared for Spring/Summer 2020. Saint Laurent Image via: Vogue France Being one of the most iconic French designers, Saint Laurent proudly opens our list. This year’s runway was staged again with the Eiffel Tower in the background. However, unlike last year, water was replaced with rows of lights that highlighted the show’s connection to the City of Lights even more. Saint Laurent’s new collection aims to celebrate diversity and fit every skin color, as well as all types of beauty. Flamboyant cheetah print accompanied by red boots, emerald green paired with golden ornaments and classic, elegant black suit to name but a few upcoming trends. By embracing all types of feminine beauty, Saint Laurent nods to the variety that pretty much shaped its unquestionable position in…

T’Xuan – Little China in Paris

Almost everyone who dreams about coming to Paris, pictures himself sitting in one of the famous Parisian cafés, slowly sipping espresso and eating a macaroon. However, when living in Paris, many quickly realize that most of the cafés are very similar. Although every local loves this intrinsic part of the Parisian lifestyle, it happens that we crave something different from time to time and T’Xuan is responding to that need. Via: T’Xuan T’Xuan (糖轩) was founded in 2015 by Yuelin Cui and Pierre-Henri Boissavy right in the center of Paris. This extraordinary Chinese tea room offers a broad variety of Chinese desserts and tea as well as a few entrée-sized traditional dishes. If you visit the tea room during Chinese festivals, you can also order special festive foods like moon cake or zongzi. Aesthetics plays a big part in T’Xuan: tea flowers float in the teapots while little porcelain koi…
